Hotel Restaurant Casa Vacanza Claudio in Bergeggi (SV), on the western Riviera of the Ligurian coast.
Claudio is a tireless experimenter, and a meticulous perfectionist, in constant search of simplicity in his creative dishes, albeit combined with an incredible combination of aromas and flavors. His kingdom is the sea, both in his kitchen and in his personal life.
Born in Vado Ligure in 1950, he attended the Hotelier Institute of Genoa, and at age 15 went to London to gain experience abroad. He then came back home and began working in a local restaurant-trattoria with his mother in the kitchen.
But he dreamed of elegantly-laid tables, waiters in white gloves, chefs wearing toques and immaculate white aprons, and so he decided to start his own restaurant in Bergeggi, which he built in 1982. There Claudio found his vocation of creating a model of exquisite hospitality, a place where good taste is not only the result of the great cuisine, flavors and colors of the Mediterranean, but strongly emerges in every detail.
The excellent restaurant serves freshly-caught seafood on a terrace with a dream view overlooking the Mediterranean, and small hotel, added later, offers 20 rooms and 5 suites, all with panoramic terraces and Jacuzzi, as well as a swimming pool surrounded by olive trees. In 1990 the prestigious Michelin Star arrived.
